Butterfly Card

Here is a simple card I put together, playing a bit with the Nuvo Shimmer powders. I created the oval by tapping a bit of the powders in a few colours onto a watercolour piece of paper and misting with water and then spraying a heavier application of water once the powders were moist to make sure they did not all get blown away by more powerful water stream. I then put it aside.

To make the card I used my dies to cut an oval from the background paper I made above. I adhered this to a piece of cardstock that I had run through my Big Shot with the Photo Play Paper Starburst Cover plate die. I matted these pieces onto a piece of black cardstock and then adhered them all to a white card blank.

To make the butterflies I used a die to cut out the detailed butterfly in black cardstock and the solid butterfly in vellum. I adhered the black layer onto the vellum and then attached the buterflies to the card front overhanding and trimming off the edges as needed.

I used the Perfect Sentiments stamp and die set from PinkFresh Studio to create the sentiment stamping it in black Versafine ink. I love this set as it is so versatile.
