Embossed Floral Card

This is another card made with the terrific Floral Silhouette stamps from Hero Arts.

To make this card I inked a piece of A2 size Bristol smooth cardstock with a variety of distress ink colours covering the whole piece, not really worrying too much about making it smooth or blending the colours too much.

Once it was covered in various ink colours, I stamped randomly various stamps from the Floral Silhouette set in Versamark ink and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

Once it was all embossed, I took my black ink pad and pressed it directly to the paper and smeared it down piece until I had the whole thing covered. I then took a clean cloth and rubbed the ink off the embossed areas which acted like a resist. I kept moving to a clean area of the cloth until no more ink would come off from the embossed area.

To finish off the card I coloured a piece of white cardstock with some coordinating ink from the background as I did not have the right of pink in my stash and then cut out the sentiment using a die. I matted it in black and used a strip of the same inked paper to mat a sub sentiment that I cut of another die. To see how I lined up the smaller words, check out the tip I shared on a previous post that you can find in the tips section.

I cut an oval in vellum and attached it to the card front using some Tombow Multi and sponge for an invisible application of glue on the vellum. I then mounted the sentiment on the oval and then the sub sentiment below that to complete the card.
